I have had Elements on my Mac for a while, but never learned how to use it. I am looking forward to your magazine and watching your videos so that I may learn the software, thanks!

There are a couple things to check:
1) Make sure you have the current version of QuickTime installed from http://www.apple.com/quicktime. Please make sure virus and security software are disable during the installation.
2) If you have the current version of QuickTime, take a look at your Preferences Panel for QuickTime. There may be some video card settings that are getting in the way of videos displaying. There should be some preferences listed regarding DirectDraw. Those being turned off may help.

Cindy

I don’t have the sliding bar at the bottom of the window on the videos. I can’t fast forward or go back.

I too cannot get the right hand side of the video. Nor do I have a slider bar for forward and reversing. If I click anywhere on the screen the video stops and a further click returns me to the beginning. Very annoying.
Please help as I have just taken the subscription and cannot study anyhting.

On this site there is an option “Trouble viewing this video?” click to open in a new window and it is perfect. Think I’ll have to do it all the time though.

It was too blurry to read- I clicked on the “open in another window” and still blurry- not as much. The right side is cut off for me too. The voice sounds like someone far away talking into a metal barrel….weird. Hope there is a big improvement on subsequent videos. I just signed up and I am a total beginner.
Windows 7 64 bit Dell u2410 monitor, xps 9100, dedicated video+sound cards.

Hi Graham,
It’s pretty easy — we wrote an article about it not long ago.
http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/html/integrate-lightroom-with-elements/
It’s done with Elements 8, but it’s the exact same procedure for Elements 10.
Once you’re set up, click on an image you want to edit, and choose Ctrl-Alt-E (Mac: Command-Option-E) to edit the photo in Elements.
best,
Rick
