Create a Reusable Photo Frame
Matt uses the Magic Extractor tool and some quick layers work to create a cool, reusable picture frame from a stock photo. (Note that, in earlier versions of Photoshop Elements, the “Create Clipping Mask” menu item is known as “Group With Previous,” but is always available via Ctrl-G (Mac: Command-G))
The image Matt used for his background can be found on Fotolia for under $5. You can also search for free Creative Commons-licensed work on Flickr (here’s one search on the term “frame”)
You can also use frames from the Content palette – see our article from the magazine on this often underused feature inside Elements.
