Using the Liquify Filter for Retouching

By Matt Kloskowski  ·  May 10th, 2010

The Liquify Filter is great for those little retouching “tweaks” we all need to do from time to time.

Very good demo. I was thinking,. After the movie avatar came out, friends have come to me asking if I could turn them into one which I have done. The hardest part being the nose. I think it would be a great tutorial as it covers liquify, skin texture/color. How about it guys/gals

Thank you for this video. This is a very useful filter. It looks to deliver the same results as the paid morphing software on the market. But, I think this filter is better because you can refine your changes to your liking and aren’t restricted to a wizard editing format.

I have been a member for about 9 months but have recently taken advantage of the videos. I am so excited to dig into Photoshop Elements 8. It is so much more complex than it appears on the surface. The abilities of this software are awesome. Thank you PET for your hard work on your website and relevant videos you produce.

I plan on signing up for another year soon.I hope I can hold out for a new DVD giveaway with paid subscription :-) I got the Volume 3 Techniques last year and it was awesome!

I really enjoy your educational videos. It is great to go back into the archives and see how to do some of the older video. One forgets how to do some of the demonstrations, so having the chance to revisit some of the older video’s helps me to re-educate myself and improve my skills. I have been a member for about 5 years. Please keep the videos coming with explanations on how to use all the tools.

    Thanks,

    Still another tremendously-useful movie.

FOR OTHER MEMBERS A POSSIBLY HELPFUL HINT:

Instead of watching the movie online, download it and then watch it so that:

    1. You can be sure that it downloaded correctly and

    2. You can add to the title to remind yourself what filters, blends, etc. were used (to jog your memory before opening it again in the future). One might even wish to assign stars to the new title.
