Thanks, Dave. Here’s another reason to open photo files in Camera Raw. I can’t decide which trait I like best about this procedure: the convenience or the non-destructive nature of these adjustments.

Thanks Dave another terrific example of restoring old photos.
QUESTION : Is there a way to add color to a black and white ( bust ) photo ? I have refined an image of my dad in black and white but I can’t seem to find a way to add in the skin tones to make it look near real or natural using color. Back when we were taking photos we didn’t have as much color film.
Thanks & Happy Holidays

New to Photoshopelementsuser.com and I was trying to view a video and I was not able to get video, only sound. I run an IMac. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Great tutorial. Has someone tackled the restoration of faded 70s color photos?
Warm regards and happy new year!

I just tried this on an old picture of my Grandparents wedding back in the 1920′s and it was so easy. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Ineke,
You should get Camera Raw installed with Photoshop Elements. Which version of Elements are you using?
You can find out more about how to use Camera Raw by clicking on the Camera Raw category.
