By Elizabeth LePage  ·  July 20th, 2011

The Diffuse Glow filter (found under Filter > Distort) can add a soft, dreamy quality to family photos, portraits, or even landscapes.

Helpful, but graphics were poor and came way too fast. Also narrative was too fast — why the hurry? Had to play multiple times to figure it all out.

Compared to other videos, the audio volume is much lower.

I’ll see if I can pump it up a bit, Duane – it seemed a bit lower than normal to me, but I thought it might have just been that my machine was turned way down, volume-wise.

      Thanks,
      Rick

Great tutorial. A filter gem I did not know about but will be using.

Never even noticed this filter before – like, there are so few of them…! – but am certainly going to try it now. Speed, narrative and volume were just fine for me btw.

Did find the demonstration a bit fast. However most thankful for having the opportunity to view.

I have tried this technique with several of my images, and they all turn out blue. Any suggestions?

I thought it was a good tutorial. Not near as fast as some of them. Had no trouble following at all. Tried it on a wedding pic and turned out great. Thanks

I couldn’t get it to work. Wendy Williams on the Elements Village forum told me that I needed to make sure the color chips were at set at default black foreground and white background. Once I fixed that, the difuse glow woked as advertised.

Liked the tutorial. Anybody have an issue when they open the image in the Diffuse Glow filter but the Image (particularly the white colors) immediately darken up/turn gray at Amount 1 and gradually become worse as your increase glow amount?
