    I have some questions
    1) in what window do you create the new document?
    2) I cannot find the layer>group with previous command although I have looked everywhere. What could I be doing wrong?
I am using Photoshop Elements 9

    Mary,

There’s no special window; just choose File>New.

Adobe changed the name in the Layer menu in Elements 8 and above: it’s now Layer>Create Clipping Group. It’s still Ctrl-G (Mac: Command-G), though.

I’m all set to give this a try. When I see Linda Sattgast’s name on something I know it will be good. Thanks.
