    very good tutorial, but I have a problem because of the blur effect photoshop 9 wonder simplify the layer.

      I’m sorry I tried again with a psd instead of a jpg and it seems better

    Dave – Thanks for the great tips and idea. I save and refer to all these type of ideas when I want to look for something new to do. Please keep them coming. It is great to have them for reference. Hope this one goes on any new disc set User comes out with. (Maybe it already has)

    I did this tutorial when I first got PSE 8 a couple of months ago. It was very hard but with some help on Elements Village forum, I got through it. Since that time, I managed to get Grant’s Mask plugin. It made doing the tutorial easier than having to deal with the adjustment mask. Still, following the tutorial would be a lot easier if I had PSE 9. There are certain commands Dave Cross does in the video that don’t work with the plugin mask. This time it took one fourth the time to complete the tut. I’d like to try the technique on something else.

    Dave, I like this effect but I am useing PSE8 and I do not have the layer mask function. Is there a way to do get a layer mask effect in PSE8?
