Great way to make your own pattern – BUT how do I the pattern seamless?

Wonderful tutorial. I’ve seen this style before but didn’t know how it was done. I tried it the way that you mentioned at the beginning, which turned out okay, but very time consuming. Thank you for the quicker and more accurate way of making this pattern. :-)
