This incredible tutorial opens up a whole new frontier of creativity. Dingbats, Webdings, etc. had been a total mystery until I read this article.

Thank you, Diana, for a very educational tutorial!

Just read “Have Fun with Dingbats” and downloaded a few to play with.
Something I’m not understanding ….. how to use a dingbat font in like Facebook or Flickr (to make comments). I also don’t understand in the Character Map how the corresponding letter and/or number to the dingbat is used. For example, if the star dingbat I want to use is the letter B in that font and it shows U+0061 as the corresponding letter/number how do I put that down???
I’m not sure if I’m making myself clear …. I hope so!
I tried to copy/paste the dingbat that I wanted to use into Facebook or Flickr but what it puts down is the alphabet that it stands for!
Anyway, it was an interesting article and I did find quite a few dingbat fonts that I liked.
    Thanks!

Thank you, James, for your kind comments.

Diane, I don’t believe dingbats can be used in comments on sites like FaceBook and Flickr. Thanks for your nice remarks about the article.
