Thanks again Matt! I used dodge and burn extensively in my darkroom days, but couldn’t really transition their use to digital. When the video started I saw the bright areas and thought you were going to darken them, and the dark areas and thought you were going to lighten them. Talk about a pleasant surprise! Brilliant! This is very helpful.

Speaking of “darkroom days” (I also remember those), isn’t this a 100x easier and more precise? And now we get to work with layers…how great is that?

easy to use and fix photos but at times I do miss the good old days in the darkroom

To consume fewer MBs of HDD, instead of Ctrl-J (duplicate image), create a new blank layer, adjust to Soft Light, then D&B as in this video but with brushes at 30% rather than 25% (I learned this alternative in another of Matt and Scott’s videos).
