I am new at this and a little confused. After down loading zip file what folder do you unzip to? Thanks

      Hi Dixon,

You should get an unzipped folder of texture files–wherever you want it–which you can use with your photos. Check out the blog post, “Add a Texture to Your Photos” for how to get started:

There are links to lots of other tutorials on the site for working with textures.

      best,
      Rick

I really like the stone textures, but how do you unzip them? Other things I have downloaded come in a jpg format and not zip. Can anyone help??

      Caroline,

Both PCs and Macs should allow you to double-click the ZIP files to decompress them, or most PCs should let you right-click and choose “UnZip”. The result will be a folder with the textures inside, in JPG format.

      best,
      Rick

I haven’t visited the Photoshop Elements web site for a while. It is gorgeous and this is certainly the day I needed gorgeous. I am working on an anniversary presentation and I stopped by to see if I could find a draped satin texture that I could use as a background for my photographs. I have the idea of taking a photograph of draped satin fabric, but I haven’t tried that yet. I decided to check PET to see if anyone could point me to some of the excellent PET tutorials that would show me how to get the effect that I need, or, if there is a satin texture in the displayed texture packs that are available for download. .

I took out a PET subscription only recently – what great value – good magazine, great monthly editor’s letter with loads of useful links and free texture downloads. Thanks Rick and thanks to the PET team. Keep up the good work; it’s helping me enjoy my hobby all the more. John, Warwickshire, UK.
