These are some really useful tips. I recently used exposure merging for some spectacular results. Additionally if one has a photo that could use a bit of exposure tweaking, but only one exposure exists simply make a copy of the original and either lighten or darken the copy to reveal details not in original; then merge the original with the copy using photomerge for exposure.
