Weaving Ribbons

By Wendy Williams  ·  July 31st, 2008

Despite their complicated appearance, weaving ribbons is not too difficult a technique. It is really effective when you use it on a scrapbook page.

    Hi,

Thanks for the tutorial. But, any hints on how to give the weave a realistic looking shadow? You can’t just use a layer style to do this because, after you remove parts of each ribbon to get the weaving effect, a standard drop shadow will give you shadows where they shouldn’t be.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

This was a good chance for me to practice with my newly obtained Grant’s Mask. It worked. But the erasure works just as well. I tried to use a square of the crossed ribbons as a pattern, but It didn’t look right when I used it to fill a background, so I deleted it. I wonder how I could fill a page with the weave.
