How about a shout out to Grant’s Tools? It gives you a layer mask, better curves, and channels. I mean it has a sticky in the general comments section of the forum. It is a must have for PSE v#!!!

We agree, Paul – we did a big shout-out for Grant’s Tools in our Actions article from 2009:

    Action Resources

It’s really an action set more than a plug-in, but they’re all related.

I”m new to PS Elements 8 Mac and am anxious to get started with it.
My purpose is to use PSE to “embellish” my photographs into the “Monet” look.
This is just a hobby for me, so I have no aspirations of “Greatness” at all…

With that said, I am a very slow learner and I’m sure I’ll be tearing away at my
human logic board just trying to understand what PSE is trying to tell me what
    I should do next..

Yes, I guess that’s all I really want to do with this program. I love Monet and simply want
to have my humble photos show some similarity to him with the use of a computer
    and I shall die happy!..

If anyone on this forum knows of a plugin or a PSE procedure that would
help me along to “blur” my photos, I’d really appreciate it. And, yes, I do know
there’s a “Gassiann blur” procedure in PSE, but I’d also want to know of
any other procedures that would help me.
    Thanks…….

    Salvatore,

Did you check out the Plug-Ins article we did in the January/February issue?

    http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/members/boost-your-elements-experience-with-plug-ins/

It’s worth checking out to see if any of the plug-ins there will get you closer. You can also look at the Artistic Effects category on the site – we have a few videos and PDFs that show you a number of ways to achieve a ‘painted’ look with your photos.

This link will show you only the articles with ‘painting’ in them:

    Hope this helps,
    Rick
