Results for letter: "W" White Balance: This is the ability of the camera to adjust the color balance of a picture to compensate for the ambient lighting. Adjusts the image sensor for the type of light under which you are photographing. Can be automatic or manual. It is easy to see that flourescent lights have a different color from incandescent lights. These are both different from the light that a photo flash gives off, and they are all different from the color of the light from the sun. This is often adjusted automatically in digital cameras, and it makes picture taking easy. If a camera possesses this function it is said to have "auto white balance."
AWB - Automatic White Balance: A system for automatically determining white balance. When brightness changes, the human eye adapts so that a white object still looks white. On the other hand, devices such as digital still cameras see a white subject as white by first adjusting the balance to suit the color of the ambient light around the subject. This adjustment process is referred to as matching the white balance.
WYSIWYG: Slang for What You See Is What You Get, refers to accurate screen images to print out. This is a primary result of Xerox Graphics interface. Pronounced " WizzyWig "
