It’s a new year, a new website, new newsletter; perhaps some of you got new camera equipment or the new Photoshop Elements 3 over the holidays. A new job, a new home, a new attitude – whatever’s new to you is what we want to see depicted in your entry.

Your entry can be a photograph, a collage of photos and art – anything you want, as long as it’s your original work (see official rules below).

Your challenge is to create a collage from the collection of images below from our friends at iStockPhoto. How you layer them, arrange them, colorize, crop or combine them is up to you.

There is only one rule. YOU MUST USE A MINIMUM OF 5 OF THE PHOTOS PROVIDED PLUS 1 PHOTO OF YOUR OWN. Okay, two rules…the green bottle must be in there somewhere.

It’s our first Scrapbooking/Memory Management Challenge, “Memories of Mom.” Time to gather all those great old (and new) photos of Mom and create something really special, just in time for Mother’s Day. First prize is a Wacom Graphire 3 graphic design tablet!

Give us your best photographic work. It can be enhanced with Photoshop Elements or not. But it should be something you’re proud of. We’d prefer a color image, but if you’ve got a really incredible black-and-white photo, we’ll consider that, too. Simple, right?

This would be the place where we’d ordinarily tell you what you could win. But we’re not going to do that this time. Not yet, anyway…it’s way too cool to reveal, and we wouldn’t want your hand to tremble while you’re trying to press the shutter release. So relax, trust us, get your camera ready for the assignment and hit us with your best shot!
