Version 1.2 of Learn Elements app released
Version 1.2 of the Learn Photoshop Elements Today iPad app is now available from the App Store on your iPad, adding the eight new and enhanced videos from the 2011 (PSE 10) version of the course. It also fixes the crashing issue we ran into with Apple’s iOS 5 update.
You can get the updated version by going to the App Store app on your iPad and clicking the Updates button at the bottom of the screen. You can also go to iTunes on your computer, click on the Apps item in the Library section of the left sidebar, and looking for App Updates by clicking the arrow at the bottom of the screen. Then, sync your iPad and you should be all set!
The app includes an additional hour of video tutorials covering everything from the new tools and options in Photoshop Elements 10 to printing your photos, and we’ve added a comprehensive section on working with Raw images in Elements.

The upgrade is free for anyone who has already purchased the app, and it’s currently available on the App Store for $9.99. If you’d like to find out more about it, you can check the Learn Photoshop Elements page on the iTunes Preview website.

No, Kirke – the app isn’t for the Mac. We are looking to see if it might be easy to move it over, but it’s doubtful, at least in the short term.

I also would be interested in knowing about an app for the Android phone.

Regarding Android, I recently posted a response to a similar question on our Facebook page:
I know this is disappointing to some, but we’re a pretty small company, and we have to be careful about how we direct our resources.

At present there is a world of difference in the programming for programs that run on a Mac and apps that run on an iPad. You don’t just “port them over.” Pretty much the same answer for the Android, although it is a little closer than the OS for the Mac.
I have a sneaking suspicion that we may see a merging of the iOS and the OS X operating systems in the near future. Or at least a shell that would allow iOS apps to run on the Mac. After all, if Mac can make Windows (nasty word) happen on a Mac machine they sure as hell ought to be able to run the less complex iOS system concurrently. At least that is my stance. And that is why I am holding off on buying any new Mac computers because I have gotten caught in the shrift between the “legacy” Mac world and the “magical” future Mac hardware. When you buy several thousand dollars worth of Mac hardware, you don’t want to hear “oh you bought the old technology” less than a year later. Been there, done that twice.

If you have an android tablet and are a member of this site on your regular P.C. just go to the site on your android tablet, put in your membership name etc. and you can watch all the videos. Android can play flash content unlike I-Pad.
