I appear to have missed the vital link to entering this contest – except as Larry explained – by introducing others to the contest through social media. I do not participate in social media – perhaps an article on the merits of doing so would be useful! So how do I enter the contest … please. I’m assuming by going to Contest @ Photoshop Elements user.com. Is that correct? Looks as though chances of winning are considerably reduced by the new social media preference.

In respect to additions of Light Room articles to Elements. Access to all the programs we’d like is fine but there is a learning curve to consider….which is why I subscribe to Elements. Perhaps other subscribers to Elements, like me, with time restraints, learn slowly. Yes, I’ll expand to using Light Room when ready and would doubtlessly then appreciate help with that excellent program. Hopefully, you’ll appreciate the reason most of us initially subscribed to Elements and may resubscribe. Many thanks for an excellent magazine.

I agree- I subscribed to learn photoshop elements- if articles advance to using the full photoshop program/ lightroom, I may have to reconsider renewal. I also have problems with viewing tutorials like some of you (not the PET news) and have tried all the fixes they suggest to no avail. I have emailed both customer service and the managing editor 4 times over the last month and have gotten no response. Very disappointed!!!

I may be upgrading to the full Photoshop program in the near future. Maybe when CS7 comes out. How soon can we expect to see articles for Photoshop’s Big Boy version?

Really disappointed, why do I even bother to go here to see the video when it takes over 30 minutes to watch it becasue it keeps freezing and stopping. Can’t download to watch it either as it goes to cachefly.net and that page never opens. I do not have a problem with other tutorial videos. I can usually open them in another window if I have an issue. When I posted on the last video I recieved no response. I am hoping to hear something this time as I really enjoy the PET website and all the things happening as well as the tutorials.

I have the same problem. Very frustrating.

As far as being slow, I would try upgrading whatever you use to view; browser, Quicktime, Flash, whatever.

I have no trouble with them. I’m using Internet Explorer 9 with Adobe Flash Player (think that’s already embedded in IE9). However, I’m sure other browsers and versions would work as long as they are not obscure or old. I don’t download either, just click on them.

Also, your internet connection, in general, might be slow. You wouldn’t notice this, necessarily, just browsing web sites.

Just to clarify I only have the problem with the PET NEWS. I have no issues with the tutorials and in the odd time that I do have a problem I can open in another window and have no issues. I have extremely fast internet browsing so I wouldn’t think it would be an issue. I was finally able to download the video last night after much frustration and was able to view it. :) and then I was able to enter the contest :)))) big grin. Hopefully the problem will not continue. Not sure if it is perhaps an issue with cachefly.net. However I will persevere. :)

That’s an awesome cadre of prizes! Is there an alternative if you already have all of them? Or would the winner be able to pass them on to someone else?

I have opened the other two Episodes and watched the video without a problem. This video freezes at 01.16 and will not go any further no matter how long I wait.

Another person mentioned the contents of the magazine. I also subscribe to Elements because it is a magazine that has always been helpful for non professionals and newbies. I really am not interested in Lightroom at this time. Please do not get too complicated, it defeats the original purpose of subscribing to this particular magazine, which I enjoy so much along with the tuts on video.

    contest
I have mentioned your magazine on my facebook site, Rosetta C. Johnson, but do not know how to link it to your “contest” site. When I referenced you as “photoshopelementsuser.com” & click on the stream to go there from my facebook post; it does not send me directly to your site but I have to pick you out of several photoshop sites. This would be what others would be doing if they clicked on you from my post.

I want you to know that I really enjoy your web site & magazine. All of you have helped me a lot. When I first bought the Magazine, I was not using the Elements for much except for cataloging. Now I use it for editing almost all of my pictures.

If I have not entered the contest, it is O.K. I’m just letting you know I really like the Mag.

Are there any winners yet? There is supposed to be one each week in March.

I was wondering the same thing about the winners that should have already been picked. Will there be a list of winners posted?

I don’t think anyone that has the answers to our questions, reads this blog. They started the blog, but don’t seem to monitor it for questions.

Yes, the people at PET do read the blogs and posts. They are a small company and sometimes they just don’t get to it right away but usualy do answer.
      They do their best.

I fully appreciate and enjoy PET magazine, the website, the tutorials and all related information. The reason I feel this way is because you focus on Photoshop Elements. PLEASE keep it that way! Why not have links to Lightroom and/or Photoshop for people who are interested in those apps? If you have these links, those people who are ready to or want to develop skills in those apps. can then go to them. The rest of us can continue to learn and develop our skills in Elements.

PLEASE do not shift the focus away from Photoshop Elements.

Thanks for all you do !

HELP ! I have downloaded some brushes from the internet, the icon is on my desk top. How do I get Elements (10) to recognize them ????????

    • Eleanor

      April 8, 2013 at 9:29 am

John-here is a link to a short video about how to install brushes. I would also recommend you check out PET’s sister site: Elements Village.com. You will find lots of help there for those questions that come up while trying to do something in Elements.
