Learn Elements Today 12 is available

By Rick LePage  ·  December 11th, 2013

LET12-coverI just wanted to let folks know that we’ve finished the latest update to our Learn Photoshop Elements Today course — for Photoshop Elements 12 — and it is now available in our store.

Since there were very few new features in Photoshop Elements 12, the new disc is a modified version of the Learn Elements Today 11 disc from last year, with a new section on the changes and additions found in this year’s update.

If you have an earlier version of the disc, either from direct purchase off our website or via your subscription, look for our next eNews to see how you can get access to the new videos for Elements 12 or upgrade at a low price. That should go out in early January.

If you would like to see our existing videos about the new features in Elements 12, check out our PET Learning Center, which has eight videos from Matt Kloskowski.

Thanks for your support, and have a wonderful holiday season from all of us at PET!

Purchased Elements 12 the month it came out and have not been able to take advantage of “Your Free Starter Kit”…nothing works when I submit information asked on the card…

Even though I am an Elements member and LOVE 12 – I think – (been using 8 for years) – sure would like to get as much info as possible if it’s anymore than what can be found on Elements User site…

One thing that puzzles me is that I am not able to find any information of what everything means when you first open Tool Options…tons of options listed such as “left side” “right side” and so on. When you use a particular tool such as a brush – information is pretty clear. But if you don’t have a particular tool…one big mess with too many options pop up with no explaination…know what I mean?

Thanks so much for all your work in getting the word out to one and all!

    Have a great day!

      Hi Elaine-
I can’t help you with the technical issues of the card not working, as I don’t have any connection with that side of things, but as to your question about the tool options, are you asking about what the various options mean for some of the tools? In your example, it sounds like you’re referring to some options of the Move Tool. This likely won’t address the larger, underlying issue of a resource for different tool options, but specifically, the options you’re seeing there will either align selected layers based on the option you choose (for example, their top edges) or, in the Distribute section, it will space selected layers evenly (you need at least 3 layers selected for this to work). Honestly, I rarely, if ever, used the Distribute options. They probably have a use for someone out there, but I’ve never found them particularly useful. Align, though, can be very helpful.

I’ll look into the possibility of perhaps doing a few videos on some of the different options in various tools. Those are things that often get overlooked, and can be very helpful!

Hi Mike! Thanks so much for the reply! If I knew what I was talking about I would probably be able to figure out what I’m asking…you’ll be the first to know when I do. Will fool with it in a minute or two…in the meantime – have a great day and don’t sweat the small stuff! (Should probably take my own advice!)

    Hi-

I have been teaching Elements for several years. I have appreciated the many features that have been added over the years with a recent exception. I cannot understand why the Options Bar has been eliminated in favor of the Tool Options in 11 and 12. In my opinion, the Tool Options take precious real estate from a custom workspace. Often I need to move images in order to make the options visible. I would really like to see the return of the Options Bar with its limited space requirements!

OH Sue! I sooo agree. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the size of my screen when I’m working…I don’t know as much as you about what I am doing, but enough to know I liked the layout of my PSE 8 much more than 12…I keep my Tool Options and Photo Bin closed as much as possible now whereas in 8 I never gave it a thought…always having to move that darn screen around to see what’s below or around it.

Wish there was a way to make a fix without redoing the whole program – like a plugin of sorts. A fix would probably not involve a new edition meaning no $$$$$…

      Have a great day everyone!

I just ordered Photoshop Elements, it was processed as Photoshop Elements 11, can you check this out to make sure that Photoshop Elements 12 is sent.

    Thank you,

    Julio

I haven’t seen the anticipated January eNews about upgrading/accessing the new PE 12 videos – has this been delayed?

      Hi Brian,

Are you referring to the Learning Center videos? If so, you can access them here, http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/learningcenter/?utm_source=nav&utm_medium=LearningCenterTab&utm_campaign=lastLink . Or to access videos that were created using PSE 12, click on this link http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/tag/elements-12/.

      Hope this helps :)

        Hi Diana

No, I was referring to this “If you have an earlier version of the disc, either from direct purchase off our website or via your subscription, look for our next eNews to see how you can get access to the new videos for Elements 12 or upgrade at a low price. That should go out in early January.”

I have not received an enews for several months. Where are they?
Also, as a purchaser of “Learn PE Today V 11″, I would also like to know about upgrading/accessing the PE 12 videos.
