Landscape Photo Challenge: Top Picks

By Elizabeth  ·  November 22nd, 2012

Thank you to all the photographers who participated in our August Photo Challenge. With such a classic photographic topic, we saw some exceptional examples! Here are the finalists who stood out to our judges.

This classically composed landscape by Steven Yockey lets us experience the vastness of these amazing canyons.

Betty Eich tells the story of sailboats and warm waters in this delicately framed image.

What a fantastic perspective, Anthony Mule, we love the unique outline for this cityscape!

Patrick Chen takes us to a foreign land with these otherworldly greens and vibrant primaries.

The sweep of light across the image helps draw the focus in to this gorgeous night photograph by Robert Horwitz.

Stephen Zarvis watched video tutorials by Matt Kloskowski and Liz Ness to boost the sunlight in this early morning shot.

Using added lens flare and a Lomo effect, Laura Pearson warms up this simple countryside scene into a well-edited Australian landscape.

Winner: Hans van Overbeek used both Elements and onOne’s Photoframe to create this beautifully textured planet, full of soft blueish tones and rounded riverfront buildings.

Congratulations to all our winners! Our November Photo Challenge is going on right now. The theme is “Sqaure.” Don’t forget to join the fun!
