Hi Tom, When you click on the January/February hyperlink above it should take you to the page for the Jan/Feb issue. There you should see all the “Extras” for this issue and at the bottom of the page under “Download” there is a link that says “Download this issue as a PDF” When you click on this link the issue will download. Let me know if this works for you. Thanks and Happy New Year!

There is no download link. When I click on the link above it just refreshes the current page. Should I be able to download this on my iPad, or do I need a computer for this?

No it should work on your iPad. At the end of the first paragraph it reads “– from the January/February issue” January/February is underlined, click on that and it will take you to another page (the photo is the same), but when you scroll down it will have links to the “Extras” and after the Extras you’ll see “Download” under there is a link that reads “Download this issue as a PDF”. When you click on that it will download the issue to your iPad. It may take a couple of minutes depending on your internet speed. Let me know if this works for you.

Another great looking issue….downloaded fine! Good idea about distributing PET over the Internet for members as well as a printed copy (which I have always kept right from the first issue).

I need help, please. Earlier today I watched Karen Brockney’s tutorial on “Creating Straight Lines, Dotted lines and Scalloped Photo Frames”. I then printed the written instructions and closed the video. I have been trying to create the scalloped frame, but something is not working and I need to view the video again – however, I can’t find it.

This is the site that I found the video tutorial originally, but now it has disappeared. Can you tell me where to find it? I love the scalloped effect, but I’m doing something wrong, even though I have followed the written instructions. Thanks.

Just finished doing The Splatter Zone Painted Texture Effects by Cory Barker. Neat effect and I can fore see many different applications. I have one question about the tutorial concerning Step 2 and using the Magic Extractor. I am using PSE 12 and under the Image menu there is no such option. I assume this tut was made using an earlier version of PSE.

It was not a large problem as there are many ways to extract an image but did cause some confusion in the beginning. Overall a great lesson, easy to follow and the splatter jpeg for brush creation was a useful bonus.

Hi Judith, Sorry for the confusion and you are right this tutorial was created using PSE 11. Happy New Year!

Hi! I was trying to do the Splatter Zone tutorial and the tools I need are not there to do them! Help! First of all there is no magic extractor and I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Secondly, there is no splatter texture file. I would really like to try this technique!

      January 7, 2014 at 6:35 pm

Hi Bonnie, I’m really sorry for any confusion. The Splatter Zone tutorial was made using PSE 11 and the Magic Extractor tool was removed in PSE 12. Use the Quick Selection tool to select the football player, then Ctrl-C to copy the selection, click on the Create a new layer icon and Ctrl-V to paste the selection onto the new layer. Also, I added the texture file, so if you go and download the zip file from the Splatter Zone page, you’ll get the texture file. Let me know if this works for you :)

I would love to be able to download the before photo from the Top 10 Tips and Tricks.

I downloaded the PDF … is there any way I can extract the photo from a PDF file?

    January 18, 2014 at 2:54 pm

Although I wasn’t able to download the hotos for the Top 10 Tips and Tricks, I did download the PDF file that included the picture.

In Photoshop Elements under File, there is a choice of Import with the choice of PDF. When I chose the PDF, the entire file appeared, and I was able to choose photo 1 and photo 11 to work on. Then I saved them as a jpg. They are not large files, but they will work.

Is there any way to have Larry Becker do the Stained Glass as a tutorial?
I am really stuck on step 5. Ctrl-O does not bring up the image in the window.
