By Rick LePage  ·  June 18th, 2013

best_of_pet_dvd7_cvr500pxI just wanted to let folks know that the first copies of our annual “Best of Photoshop Elements Techniques” DVD are in the office, ready for shipping.

Vol. 7 of the series includes more than 6 hours of video tutorials from our best trainers, including Matt, Liz, Mike, Larry, and Karen, and they’re sure to help you get the most out of editing your digital photos with Photoshop Elements.

Also included on the disc is every issue of Elements Techniques magazine from 2012 in PDF format (opens in Adobe Reader or Apple Preview), and an alphabetical index to every article published in the magazine from 2004-2012.

The disc is normally priced at $35, but we’ve got two special offers through the first week in July:

  • If you’re a subscriber to PET, and you like to get the current DVD as part of your renewal, just use this link to get DVD, Vol. 7 and two extra months added to the end of your subscription. (If you renew by going to the store, just make sure you use the promo code DVD7 at checkout.)
  • If you’re not a subscriber, or you just want the disc, we’re offering the disc for only $20 — that’s $15 off the regular price. AND, we’ll ship it free in the US and Canada ($5 for the rest of the world.)
To take advantage of the $15 off price, go to our store, click on the DVD Vol. 7 link and add it to your cart. At checkout, use the Promo Code DVD7-SAVE, and you’ll get your savings.

Thanks, and have a great summer from all of us at PET!

I guess that if you are a subscriber who has a year and a half, the cost is $20. Difficult to plan that far in advance.

We try to be fair about it, Joseph — some people just like to have a hard copy of all the videos from the site in a clean place. We’re not trying to get rich off these, that’s for sure.

Is it possible to provide a List of Contents for the DVD?

Hey, what about those of us that just renewed recently and got a “second” copy of Vol. 6? I had to give it away to one of my students since I already had Vol. 6.

I agree with Frank about the list of contents? Since I’ve been getting the magazine for many years now, I probably already have the whole years worth of written tutorials contained in it. What would I be getting that I don’t already have access to through the magazine sub.?

I’ll put a copy of the TOC on the post.

Honestly, the only thing you’re getting are uncompressed videos from the website, which you already have access to. We categorize them and link all the cheatsheets with them, but it you save the videos and organize them on your computer, then you’ve pretty much got everything.

As I said, a lot of people like to have the DVDs for archival purposes (or to keep a year’s worth of tutorials handy), and we don’t’ do these to make money. Offering them with a renewal as a gift has been very popular for us and subscribers.

I agree with Sue. I also just renewed and received Vol 6 “again”. Sure would like to have Vol 7 for having renewed.. I think the least you could have done was to let us know that Vol 7 was in the works before we renewed. That’s all I’m saying Rick, what’s fair is fair.

Mary, check your email; we’ll send out a copy of the new disc today.

If anyone received a second copy of Vol. 6 in the last month, send an email to rick[at] and I’ll make sure you get a copy of Vol.7 free of charge.

Please don’t post a note here about it. Use the email address. I check that every day.

Thank you Rick for being so understanding. I love the PSE magazine and go through each page the day I get it and I’ve been doing this for several years now. I highly recommend it to anyone I teach Elements to. I teach in a retirement community and all my students also get this magazine. The service is wonderful.

Thanks Rick for looking out for us loyal followers and fans. Sue

    Hi Rick,

I renewed for two years a couple of weeks ago and have been a member since 2007. Will I get a copy as there was no mention of this when I renewed.

    • Rick

      June 20, 2013 at 7:15 pm

Check your email, Paul — you’re all set.

I’ve been a member since 2008 and really appreciate the way you’ve kept the renewal price so low. I’ve not found another site with near the useful information, expert advice, comprehensive videos and willingness to satisfy patrons. Producing the “Best of PET” volumes is a real bonus since it’s a recap of the information already supplied by two mediums! Thanks to you, your staff and contributors for going the extra mile!!

We are so used to having always access to the Internet that we hardly can imagine that this could be possible. Worst case scene nations for a lot of people.
I’ve been a member for ages, can even remember life without PET :-)

2 Years ago our house was flooded by a leaking dishwasher, formed mold between the walls and we needed to evacuate because dishwasher water is sewer. Luckily we have 5th wheeler in which could stay for what we thought would 6 weeks but turned out to be 6 months in the winter, in the holiday season on a RV place that had a wifi connection that inmediately set you back in the 80′s with a 24 baud modem. Email dowloading was possible but not with attachments.

I just installed PSE 10 had a EHD full of pics and another EHD with my beloved scrapbooking files. Plus i had 3 PET CD’s one would teach me the tricks of PSE. I can truly say they saved my marriage. :-) living in a small space 24/7 is taxing on any marriage. Luckily we both know when to shut up and I could loose myself in getting to know PSE 10. Thanks to these wonderful CD’s I learned a lot and they are very dear to me. I’m looking forward receiving my nr 7! We will take the RV on the road in a near further and those CD’s will be waiting. My subscription still runs till nov 2014 but I happily payed the $20 and am looking forward to evenings without Fios but with good old 24 baud put through and loose myself again in a PET cd!

When purchasing Best of Elements Vol 7, checkout would not recognise “DVD7″ as a valid promo code. I cancelled my purchase & will try again in a couple of days.

    • Rick LePage

      June 23, 2013 at 1:14 pm

Not sure what the problem is, Ron — the promo should work. Were you trying to purchase the DVD, or renew your subscription? If you just wanted to purchase the disc, you should use the DVD7-SAVE promo code.

I sent you a separate email about it too.

I have just subscribed to PET in May for $59 and haven’t yet received anything (magazine, book or discs)) in the mail. Please let me know when I should expect these. I am also interested in receiving the Best of PET Vol. 7 DVD which I read will be available thru the first week of July.

    Thank you.

I signed up in May to renew (I think it was May) I am getting 2 extra months, but then I see this and it says I could have received the CD and two extra months…..can I change my renewal to include the CD?

I did not know about Volume 7 at the $20 price. Is it too late? I have been a subscriber for a while now and I love it. Thanks, Shirley Thompson

    • Rick

      July 14, 2013 at 5:34 pm

Absolutely, Shirley — the code is still valid.

  16. Stephen

    July 21, 2013 at 11:28 pm

Is the code still valid or is it expired?

    • Rick

      July 22, 2013 at 8:58 am

We’ll keep it up for the balance of July.

  17. Stephen

    July 22, 2013 at 3:48 pm

Hi Rick…tried using the code DVD7-SAVE but it says it doesn’t apply.

    • Rick LePage

      July 22, 2013 at 3:57 pm

      Hi Stephen,

I just checked to make sure the codes are still active. It might be that you’re using the code in a different way.

If you just want to buy the disc, use the DVD7-SAVE promotional code — that will take $15 off. If you want to renew a subscription and get the DVD (and 2 months free), use DVD7. (If you want a new subscription, they all come with DVD7, so don’t worry about the code there at all.)

      Hope that helps.

        July 22, 2013 at 4:13 pm

I just wanted to buy the disc. I cut and pasted the promo code, but each time I click on the APPLY button I get the “Promo not Valid” in red.

I have just now subscribed to P.E.T. As a new subscriber do I get the Best of PET Vol.7 DVD or do I need to purchase it?

    • Richard

      July 30, 2013 at 9:12 am

Disregard my post. I didn’t completely read the offer to subscribe e-mail which answers my question,

I’ve got 2 Vol 6′s, 1 for each time I renewed, Anyone want to trade a 6 for a 7. Since I renewed for 4 years, I’ll have to wait until 12/31/2016 to renew and get 7. It will be my luck that I’ll probably get 8 or even 9 by then.

All you need to do is send Customer Service a note, and we’ll put a DVD7 in the mail to you.
